A little help for your closet

Your first outfit

Start with a top, a bottom and shoes, or a dress or jumpsuit with shoes. In Closet, tap the hanger + to add photos. Use one piece per photo on a plain, contrasting surface. Confirm its type and colour if asked, then return Home to Shuffle.

Multi-scan can find several pieces in a photo or sampled video. Review every crop before saving. Detailed scanning needs a one-time download of about 204 MB plus runtime files; Quick scan offers a simpler alternative. Detection, labels and cutouts can be wrong, especially with layered clothes. You can edit labels, adjust crops or keep the original photo.

Your own groups keep outfits separate. Tap a piece on Home to swap it or build around it; save looks in Outfits. In piece details, Available can be changed to In laundry or Temporarily unavailable. Saved outfits and past days are kept.

Tap Plan on Home to set the current outfit for a later day. On that day Home opens with your plan; tap Wore it to log it, or Shuffle to look at something else. Tap the green Planned for today pill to show it again, move it or remove it. Wore it on Home logs today’s outfit in Calendar. Weather styling uses the chosen city’s fresh forecast only when you enable Weather-aware for the group. Tap the style rail for Not my style; reasons are optional, and Settings → Clothing labels → Outfit feedback lets you undo feedback.

Install on your phone

iPhone: open Lookrobe in Safari, (1) tap the menu with three lines beside the address bar, (2) tap Share, (3) tap Add to Home Screen, then open that icon before adding clothes. If Share is already in the bar, start at step 2. Safari and the installed app can have separate wardrobes.

Android: open Lookrobe in Chrome. Choose Install app or Add to Home screen from the browser menu, or use Install Lookrobe in Settings when offered.

Open online once to cache the app. Saved clothes and outfits work offline; new AI functions need their models downloaded first, and live weather needs a connection. Keep the app open while processing photos.

Back up and restore

  1. In Settings, choose Save a backup. On phones, use Continue to save after preparation. Finish saving the JSON file to Apple Files, Google Drive or another safe place outside Lookrobe, then choose I saved it safely. A handoff alone is not proof of safe storage. Approve wanted scan drafts first; unsaved drafts are not included.
  2. To restore a saved wardrobe, choose Restore backup on the welcome screen or Settings → Restore. Select your file and confirm the preview.
  3. Compare your pieces, outfits, groups and calendar, and open a few photos. Existing records are kept. If anything failed, retain your file and restore again to add missing records.

A quiet Closet reminder appears after your first complete outfit with at least three pieces including shoes, or five clothes. Later snoozes for seven days. After a confirmed backup, five meaningful changes, or a change after fourteen days, can prompt another reminder. Forecast refreshes do not count. Backups also include trips, packing rules, preferences and availability.

Keep a verified backup before clearing browser data, changing phones or removing an installed app. Each browser and installed app has its own local storage.

Help shape the beta

Found a problem or a useful improvement? The short feedback form asks about your first outfit, days used and usefulness. Answer only what you want. No wardrobe photos or logs are attached. You can stay anonymous, or leave an email if you want a reply.

Send beta feedback ↗

The form opens Google Forms. Your answers go to the Lookrobe maintainer; Google receives the form visit and anything you submit. Do not include private photos, exact addresses or backup files. There is no required sign-in or email. An optional reply address is only used to respond to your feedback. Without it, the maintainer cannot reply directly.

In Settings, Share feedback opens a short check-in. Basic app details are optional and shown before sending. Google Forms opens in a new tab with its own delivery result; look for “Your response has been recorded.” A quiet invitation can appear in Closet or Outfits after at least three days of use, only while idle. Not now waits thirty days; Don’t ask again turns invitations off. There are at most two automatic invitations per browser, and Settings always lets you share feedback.

For a bug, tell us: what you tried, what happened, what you expected, your phone/browser and the version at the bottom of Settings. If data is missing, stop clearing or reinstalling and keep your last backup.
